Last week I returned from a great trip to Mpls, NYC and DC. I went most of the way by train with Livia, my 5 year old daughter. We didn’t have a sleeper so a good nights sleep was tricky (I recommend taking a camping mattress and sleeping on the floor). But the train is certainly the way to go! We met so many people from all walks of life and nationalities, had lots of pickup card games in the lounge car, and watched a few Miyazaki films on computer (Howl’s moving castle and Kiki’s Delivery Service). It was a 48 hour fugue state–very comforting.
